Toning

Many women do not know this but toning is an important step of skincare. Why? Well, using a skin care toner is crucial not only to restoring the skin’s natural pH, but also a great way to ensure that whatever residue makeup that you may have on are totally removed. There is another important role that toning plays. It provides your skin a protective acid mantle that protects the skin and makes the skin stronger. It also reduces the size of skin pores. With so many advantages, you really have no excuse to why you are not using a toner after cleansing. However, there are several types of toners, from from gentle acidic formulations, whitening, firming to highly antiseptic formulas (just nice for acne proned skin). So depending on your skin type, choose the appropriate type for you skin.

How to use a toner :
Soak a cosmetic pad liberally with your toner. Start by gently wiping your face from your nose outward. Then wipe over the forehead horizontally. You can also wipe your neck in an upward stroke. Important note is that you should avoid the delicate skin around your eyes ( unless the toner you use is specifically made for the eyes or is gentle enough formula that contains absolutely no alcohol or peroxide )
