Toning

Many women do not know this but toning is an important step of skincare. Why? Well, using a skin care toner is crucial not only to restoring the skin’s natural pH, but also a great way to ensure that whatever residue makeup that you may have on are totally removed. There is another important role that toning plays. It provides your skin a protective acid mantle that protects the skin and makes the skin stronger. It also reduces the size of skin pores. With so many advantages, you really have no excuse to why you are not using a toner after cleansing. However, there are several types of toners, from from gentle acidic formulations, whitening, firming to highly antiseptic formulas (just nice for acne proned skin). So depending on your skin type, choose the appropriate type for you skin.

How to use a toner :
Soak a cosmetic pad liberally with your toner. Start by gently wiping your face from your nose outward. Then wipe over the forehead horizontally. You can also wipe your neck in an upward stroke. Important note is that you should avoid the delicate skin around your eyes ( unless the toner you use is specifically made for the eyes or is gentle enough formula that contains absolutely no alcohol or peroxide )

Having beautiful skin is what everyone wants. In order to have keep your skin healthy, glowing and radiant, you need to take good care of your skin every single day. However, I realized that not every one knows about the importance of daily skincare… like what Kevin lao shi often says in the Nu Ren Wo Zui Da program, "There are only lazy women and not ugly women!"

The following are the basic steps required to keep your skin clear and beautiful :

Cleansing


This is the single most important step in your daily skincare regime! All traces of makeup should be removed before you go to sleep at night.

There are so many products for cleaning your skin, some with additional properties like whitening, moisturizing, anti-aging etc They are also sometimes formulated for different skin type. 

Many cleansers do the job of removing normal makeup effortlessly.

You might also want to use special makeup remover or oil on eye makeup, as foundations and blushers usually come off easily with most regular cleansers.

Clean your facial skin every evening before bed, and again in the morning.  If you’ve cleaned your face properly in the evening, in the morning, your skin will just require a light washing to remove sebum and sweat and prepare your face for your makeup before you head out for school or work.

If using a water-based cleanser, you have to wet your face with lukewarm water. However, if you are using an oil-based cleanser, you can apply directly to your dry skin. 

Then you use your fingers or soft cloth to gently apply the cleanser in small circles gently all over your face in an upward motion. You should also remember to use the cleanser on your neck. You should be using soft swipes upward towards the jaw line.

Finally rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. 

Tip 1 : If you are planning to take a shower or bath, you can also apply your cleanser before getting into the shower/tub to give it a few minutes to work deeper on your skin!

Tip 2 : Remember you have to be careful not to pull or stretch the skin when cleansing. So be gentle on your skin.
