How to make a face mask?
Face masks are good for a variety of reasons. They can tighten your pores, remove excess oil from the skin, or moisturize and replenish dry skin. Left on for 15-20 minutes then washed off with warm water, followed by a cold rinse. However if you're prone to allergies or have sensitive skin, it's a good idea to do a patch test before you start slathering. Avocado Banana Mask
Nourishing & Moisturizing Mask for dry skin
Recipe:
1/2 overripe banana, mashed (proteins)
1/2 overripe avocado, mashed (fatty acids)
2 tbs. plain yogurt (not low-fat) (antibacterial)
1 tsp. olive oil
Combine ingredients.
Apply on paper mask and put on your face leave on 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Banana Moisture Mask
Bananas provide intense moisture and firms the skin, while honey is soothing and nourishing.
Recipe:
one ripe banana
1 Tbs. honey
1 Tbs. plain yogurt
Mash the banana with a fork and add the honey and yogurt.
Apply on the paper mask, and put on face and leave on for 15 minutes.
Blueberry Yogurt Mask
Blueberries and yogurt make a soothing, purifying mask,
This purifying mask is great for all skin types and can be used one to two times a week.
Recipe:
1/2 cup cooked Bluberries
1/2 cup Plain Yogurt
Cook blueberries (any amount you choose) until soft.
Combine with yogurt in a blender and blend until smooth.
Apply on paper mask and put on face and leave on 15 to 20 minutes.
Rinse with warm water.
Green Tea Cucumber Mask
Cucumber soothes, while green tea and chamomile reduce puffiness,
and aloe vera maintains moisture and helps heal sunburned skin.
Recipe: 1 cucumber, peeled and grated
2 oz. green tea
2 oz. chamomile
1 oz. aloe vera
Mix all ingredients together and apply on the paper mask and put on your face,
hands or any skin area that is burned, irritated or dehydrated.
It should keep for a week in the refrigerator.
Egg-White Mask
Good firming & tightening mask for large-pored skin & mature skin
Recipe:
5 drops Lemon Juice or white vinegar
20ml Egg White
5ml Oat Flour
5ml Rice Flour
5ml Fuller's Earth
Mix all ingredients to paste and apply on paper mask
and put on your face for 15 minutes, then rinse off
Apple & Honey Mask (For oily skin)
1 apple
1 teaspoon honey
Grate the apple, mix in the honey. Apply on the paper mask, and put on your face.
Cucumber & Yoghurt Mask (For combination skin)
¼ of a cucumber
1 Tbsp plain/natural yoghurt
Puree the cucumber in a blender. Mix in the yoghurt. Apply on the paper mask, and put on your face.
Whiskey & Milk Mask (For normal skin)
1 tablespoon whiskey
1 whole egg
¼ cup dry milk powder
juice of 1 lemon
Mix all of the ingredients together. Apply on the paper mask, and put on your face, but take care to avoid the eye area.
Avocado & Honey Mask (For dry skin)
2 tablespoons of avocado
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg yolk
Mash up the avocado, add the honey and egg, mix it all together. Apply on the paper mask, and put on your face.
